This optic is just too cool. I knew it was going to be small and light, but was still surprised. Quality 3x magnification at barely over half a pound!!Clear glass. Reticle is easily viewed powered on or off. Also easy to use with both eyes open.I also appreciate the standard AR sight height mount and the low rise mount. Since the nature of these sights requires very short eye relief I decided to get rid of my rear sight and go with the low-rise mount.Seriously nice optic. Give this one a try.Note: I have an astigmatism and can't use red dots. But this works great for me. And makes the no-red-dot no longer a bummer.(For picture reference, I have more or less average hands. Larger than average mitt. Shorter than average fingers.)

Been seeing a lot of mixed reviews for the 5x. So I hope my review fills a lot of gaps. This is my first magnified sight coming from red dots and 1x ACOGs. Overall, this sight is very good. Ill go over the few bads first, they arent even that bad. There is a light ring in the scope when you are on the brightest settings but the low settings are bright so you wont ever really need the brightest settings. Next the eye relief, i saw other reviews said its bad so i took the risk. The eye relief is not the worst but it is noticeable if you come from very expensive sights or 1x ACOGs like me. I have a PCC rifle and fixed that by placing this sight on the back of the rail close to the chin rest. This completely eliminates the eye relief issue. Not bad right? Now for the good! - Excellent build quality, very sturdy and durable. - Very clear and nice glass throughout. - Surprisingly lightweight - BDC reticle is very dope and clear - The 5x is more affordable than the 3x which is nice. - Not a bulky sight at all. - The rail mount is hollow allowing me to use the iron sights on my PCC still, which is very nice. - Looks really tacticool If you can get over the light ring and the tight eye relief like I did, I dont think theres is a better option for the money!!

I bought this to replace my LPVO on an AR15. I couldn’t justify the size or the weight of the LPVO when I was only using one particular magnification the whole time. This is a great alternative. Obviously, the eye relief isn’t as good, but the reticle is sharp and very bright, field of view isn’t bad, and it weighs less than half what my LPVO weighs. I also ordered a Sig Bravo5 and really liked that, but again it was too big and heavy. The vortex will never match the field of view of the Sig, but it’s better than a lot of others. The only complaint I have about it is adjustments are 1 MOA per click. I think they should be 0.5 on a 5x optic. Also I wish it came with an absolute co-witness mount. PA includes a ton of mounts with their optics but Vortex only included the lower 1/3 and a low mount. The low mount is a touch too low and the 1/3 is too high for me. But I’m sure it will work for most people. Either way, I highly recommend this optic. I’m considering getting the 3x version for my SBR.

Some people come down on Vortex but how can you beat a well made, durable sight like this that holds zero and works every time you need it. Personally I love Vortex stuff and for the price with a lifetime no questions asked warranty to the possessor, you can’t beat it. Great sight and sight picture!

I got the 5X Spitfire what I don't like about it is the short eye relief but i can work with it also the bright red ring if you look at it from the front. I posted one with the highest brightness and the other with the lowest brightness settings
